It was a slap in the face when another group who were caucasian individuals proceeded to head in without any questioning or prejudice that me and my friends had gone through. Miserable place. I challenge you to find the staff smiling and the floor manager is even worse. The culture must be really bad. Any attempt at having a joke with the staff is cut down straight away and treated as if customers are being rude.
Due to his poor complaints handling we requested he left notes on our check out invoice so that we could show this with a formal complaint that I could email to the hotel. Mark advised he had done this and he placed the invoice inside a sealed envelope. I opened the envelope and to my disbelief there were pelo additional notes of the complaint we raised. When questioned Mark advised he is unable to leave notes on the invoice which made me immediately distrust him and anything he had previously said to me. I have since written a formal complaint via email and it has been over a week without receiving any acknowledgement or reply. This is apparently one of the best hotels in Birmingham city centre. The experience me and my partner faced was more towards the standards of a Travelodge or premier inn and even in those hotels you would receive a much better service with compensation or even refund. I would not usually leave such a review but the experience I faced was disgusting and I was made to feel at blame by Mark and feel I gave no choice having had pelo reply or acknowledgement to my formal complaint and believe others should be aware of this awful stay. Avoid this hotel.
I didn't stay as a guest, but I still had experience with this hotel and would like to leave a review all the same. I did work experience here earlier this month (August 2024) in various departments, as part of a training programme. Upon arrival, I was greeted by one of the lovely receptionists prior to meeting the friendly and professional Operations Manager.

Nice hotel and spa however, lamp was broken in the room on arrival and did not work. This wasn’t much of an issue as we used the wall lights and the tv. The hotel is in a nice location,there is plenty to do around there and the spa is nice just a shame we were unable to use the steam room as it was 11am and wasn’t ready at that time.

..Absolutely zero customer service by being totally ignored by the female bar member with dark hair.. despite me standing at the bar in front of her waiting to be served she looked over me after finishing with her customer and took the order from a tall man behind me????????. I couldn't help but give her a piece of my mind.
Marvellous night out, great food and drinks, we had 10 oz rib eye steak and a perfectly prepared piece of hake, (had to congratulate the chef personally on that one). Loads of the latest slots and table games, and very polite and attentive staff. Great location, we arrived via metro.
I found the place really interesting, the was a lot of food, varieties to choose from. I at what looked familiar to be it it was an overall beautiful experience...
It really is a fantastic hotel ???? amazing location we were there to visit the symphony Hall we didn't even have to go outside to get to the hall there is a connecting bridge from hotel..... wow ...
The room has a little kitchen which is an addition, also they have a launderette that you can use for free ???? (just bring you detergent). The breakfast is good as well with variety of pastries, hot and cold drinks, fruits.
